About
Currently the #1 distributor of Fannie May candy for fundraising, Mike’s Candy Stand was founded in the fall of 2005 by Mike Ruff and his wife, Joyce. Mike was a former teacher, coach, and school board member, and Joyce is also a former teacher—giving them a deep understanding of schools and the needs of fundraising groups.
Mike Ruff, our beloved “candy man,” passed away in November 2021. His daughter, Michelle Ruff Metz, and her husband, Corey Metz, proudly took over the family business to honor his legacy and continue his passion for helping others through fundraising. They are excited to carry the tradition forward while continuing to grow, with new schools joining each year.
We provide groups with one of the easiest and most profitable fundraising programs available. Families recognize and trust Fannie May, making it a product that truly sells itself. As a result, over 95% of our groups return year after year.
We are also excited to offer ship-to-home fundraising, creating a truly contactless experience. There is no money exchange at the school, no handling of product, and no deliveries to manage. Orders are placed online, and products arrive directly at the customer’s door in as little as three days. The only exchange of money is when we write your group a check for its profit.
Beginning in fall 2025, we expanded our offerings beyond candy to include additional fundraising options such as laundry detergent, popcorn, chocolate, sausage, cookies and cookie dough, nuts, and gummy bears, giving schools even more flexibility and choice.
